People across the Black Country are invited to a free online event to learn more about the importance of talking about their feelings and listening to others in times of crisis to keep themselves and others safe and well.

Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BCHFT) will hold the ‘Let’s Talk’ webinar on Wednesday 19 April.

Hosted by the Trust’s Community Inclusion team, attendees will learn techniques to help them talk about their feelings to enhance their wellbeing. The team will also share how learning to talk to others who are experiencing a time of crisis can help to save lives.

David Stocks, Suicide Prevention Community Development Worker at BCHFT, is hosting the event and is an advocate of how taking the time to talk and listen to others can change lives.

David said: “When I was offered a cuppa, I thought nobody cared, my life wasn't worth living. That cuppa changed me. It was more than just a cuppa, it was the words that accompanied it and that somebody did in fact care. It saved my life.

“In the Let's Talk event I am going to share with you how taking time to talk and listen to someone can change people's lives. Simple tips, simple talk and relevant signposting can put a smile back on people's faces. Join me and together we will make the whole Black Country smile."

The event takes place on Zoom, from 10am to 11am. To reserve a free place, visit: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/lets-talk-webinar-tickets-591438868577
