Do you enjoy writing, reading or listening to poetry? Why not join us at one of our friendly and informal (Un)spoken Word poetry events?
Our (Un)spoken Word poetry group was born in 2021; the title chosen because talking about mental health, wellbeing and life can often remain unspoken.
We have welcomed many to our informal events, including those who have never written poetry before, but left inspired! We understand that some people just like to listen to poetry and that is OK too. All are very welcome.
In 2023 we published a volume of poetry which you can read here.
Our next event is on Wednesday 25 June 2025, 3-5pm in Wolverhampton. We would love to see you there. Register your free place.
(Un)spoken Word - the healing chapter - our poetry group returns to Wolverhampton
On Wednesday 25 June, 3-5pm we will bring (Un)spoken Word poetry to Wolverhampton.
We hope to welcome new and old friends to join us at The Community Hub (next to Costa Coffee) at Wolverhampton Train Station.
Poetry is a great healer, it helps us share how we are feeling and helps us to connect with other people.
Join local poets, David Stocks and Matt Humphries at the (Un)spoken Word poetry group. Bring along your own poems to share or if you’d prefer to just listen, that’s fine too. You don't need to be a poet to take part. The warmth of the group through the language of poetry is something special and is open to all.
We want to distribute our poetry book to our patients, service users and the wider community.
There is no cost, but we are asking readers to consider a donation to our Trust charity Brighter Lives. Charity funds raised will go towards supporting patient activities on our wards and in the community.
You can donate at the (Un)spoken Word Just Giving page.
