Following pressure and challenges felt by organisations across the country as a result of Covid-19, bespoke mental health training is being delivered to organisations across the region to ensure employees feel supported in the workplace.

The workplace wellness service, which is part of Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BCHFT) and funded by NHS Charities Together, provides access to tools, tips and advice on how to manage mental health effectively at work.

The two hour training sessions, which offer education to managers who can identify specific individuals who require dedicated support, have been a huge success to a number of wide organisations such as Lush, Wolverhampton Wanderers, the RAC and many more.

The sessions have also been an opportunity for organisations to utilise other services from Black Country Healthcare such as thriving and surviving at work training and Mental Health First Aid.

Retention Adviser Suzi Wint who delivers the training commented: “We know just how important it is, now more than ever, following the Covid-19 pandemic and furlough coming to an end that employers aren’t just looking after their own mental health and wellbeing but that of their employees also.”

Chief Executive of BCHFT Mark Axcell added: “The workplace wellness training is so important because it supports local businesses and their workforce, and it is fantastic that it has been so well received by a variety of organisations wanting the best outcomes for their staff.”

Organisations can get in touch with the service to request training via email or telephone: bchft.employmentretentionservice@nhs.net or 01922 607808.
