On 5 July 2023, the NHS will mark 75 years of service. We will be celebrating this milestone by showcasing the best of the NHS and encouraging as many of you as possible to join us with NHS 75 activities.

Ways to get involved with celebrations

The 75th anniversary of the NHS is a perfect opportunity for us all to come together to celebrate the NHS and all that it does to care for us all through our lives.

Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is celebrating this milestone anniversary by spotlighting the individuals who make up our Trust and go above and beyond to help create happier and healthier communities across the Black Country.

From people starting in their careers to staff who have clocked up decades of service, everyone has a tale to tell.

Explore our selection of staff stories as we pay thanks to everyone across Team BCH as we mark 75 years of the NHS.

NHS England have teamed up with parkrun UK to mark the NHS’s 75th anniversary this July.

NHS staff and volunteers, as well as local communities, are being encouraged to ‘parkrun for the NHS’ at parkrun events on Saturday 8 July or junior parkrun events on Sunday 9 July.

As part of this nationwide celebration people will be encouraged to take part in parkrun and junior parkrun events, with celebrations for 75th encouraging fancy dress, NHS trademark blue or a spare NHS uniform.

Whilst there are many local and national parkrun events you can choose to take part in, the Trust is delighted to be partnering with Sandwell Valley parkrun on Saturday 8 July. Sandwell Valley parkrun provides a scenic 5k route where you will encounter historic ruins, a stunning swanpool and interesting wildlife along the way.

Whether you choose to walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate, it’s up to you but we would be delighted if you could join this special event, along with your colleagues, family and friends to acknowledge the NHS’ achievements over the past 75 years.

Please register in advance before attending parkrun and don’t forget to bring your parkrun barcode!

If you’d like to show your support in another way, volunteer at Sandwell Valley parkrun on 8 July instead.
