We want to improve the places where we provide mental health and community care. Our aim is to offer services in larger, better‑equipped buildings rather than smaller, less suitable sites.

We are exploring ways to enhance our buildings and estate portfolio so that they align better with service needs and community requirements. A key part of this plan is Goscote House, which is due to formally open in Summer 2026. Some services currently based at KingshillDorothy Pattison HospitalJack Judge House, and Orchard Hills will relocate to this site.

The services impacting patients that will be moving to Goscote House are as follows:

  • Talking Therapies

  • Mental Health Primary Care

  • Walsall Community Learning Disability Services

  • Community Enablement and Recovery

  • Complex Emotional Needs

  • Employment and Recovery

Goscote House became part of our Trust in 2019, and plans were made to turn it into a Mental Health Hub for Walsall. We planned to improve the building for both offices and patient care, however delays happened between 2020 and 2024 due to Covid-19 and rising building costs, with the teams moving into Goscote House also changing since the original plan in 2019.

With these plans now in a position to be put into action, when complete, Goscote House will be a community hub for local mental health services in Walsall.

Goscote House will offer comparable - and in some cases, improved - areas, allowing patients to receive care in comfortable, modern spaces that meet their needs.

A range of Walsall-based health services will be delivered from Goscote House, including mental health support, services for individuals with learning disabilities, community and family healthcare. When you receive your next appointment letter, we will confirm the location you will need to attend.

We know that changing the place for your appointments may feel inconvenient, and we are sorry for any disruption this might cause. We would like to take this opportunity to let you know that your care will stay the same, and you will still see the same person or team as before.

Service telephone numbers and email address will also remain the same.

Goscote House is reachable by a wide range of transport options, including car, train and bus.

  • There are over 20 parking spaces available for patients on site - with 13 of these being ambulant, offering more accessibility.

  • If you use the bus, the numbers 19, 25 and 29 buses stop close to Goscote House.

  • If you take the train, the nearest station is Bloxwich.

  • Why are services moving to Goscote House?

We want to improve the places where we provide mental health and community care. Our plan is to offer services in larger, better-equipped buildings rather than smaller, less suitable sites. Moving our services from older buildings to newer ones like Goscote House will allow us to give care to the community in the best facilities possible.

  • Will this impact the treatment I have been receiving?

No. While services have moved, there will be absolutely no change to the treatment you have been receiving or the person/team you have been working with.

  • The facility I am usually seen at is on the other side of Walsall. How can I get to Goscote House?

We know that changing the place for your appointments may feel inconvenient, and we are sorry for any disruption. Goscote House is reachable by a wide range of transport options, including car, train and bus.

    Getting There:

  • If you drive, there are over 20 parking spaces available for patients on site - with 13 of these being ambulant, offering more accessibility.

  • If you use the bus, the number 19, 25, and 29 buses stop close to Goscote House.

  • If you take the train, the nearest station is Bloxwich.

  • What are the benefits of moving to this new site?

One of our main priorities as lead provider for mental health care in the Black Country is to ensure that people within our community are cared for in the highest standard of environment possible.

By moving these services to Goscote House – a newly refurbished environment with state-of-the-art facilities – we will move further towards achieving our aim of giving the best possible quality care to our patients.

  • Will further updates be posted here?

Yes. We will be updating this webpage with the latest information as it comes in. While unlikely, we will write to all affected patients should any major changes need to occur.
